Frequently Asked Questions

I’m thinking of buying one of your products, but I’d like to know whether they work equally well for everyone.

Rather like prescription medications, different people respond in different ways to psychological treatments; however, treatments based on sound psychological principles, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), have been shown in clinical trials to have a net benefit on many people. But we cannot guarantee that any one product will work specifically for us – in fact, no one can make this promise. We believe though that, after reading the product information, you should be in a good position to know whether it is suitable for you.

What if I buy a product and either it does not work for me or I cannot use it?

Most of our products come with a 30-day guarantee which means that you can return it within this time for your money back.

I’m thinking of stopping my drug treatment prescribed by my doctor to start using one of your products.

We cannot give personal medical advice. It is vital that you contact your medical practitioner before you stop taking prescribed medication.

Have all your products been properly tested.

Some products (e.g., SAD lamps) must conform to statutory legislation, and our products do; but most of the specific psychological products available have not been through a formal process of testing for their psychological benefits. However, these products have been developed on sound psychological principles; and it is our professional judgement that they have been properly developed and are fit for purpose.

I see that you refer customers to third party websites (e.g., self-help organisations). Are these impartial referrals or do you receive some form of payment?

All referrals to third party sites are entirely impartial; we receive no payments from these organizations – we offer this information purely to help you.
